Louis Tiffany American Paperweights
| We are reminded that the elder Louis Tiffany undertook some experiments in making galass paperweights about the year 1880. He encountered so many difficulties in technique and found his costs rising to such prohibitive levels that he discontinued his efforts in this direction. One of Tiffany's experimental products, as shown to the left, is large door stop which represents sea urchins at the bottom of the ocean, with dark wavy lines arising about them, perhaps intended to suggest waves.
