Pairpoint Glass
_The Pairpoint factory was established at New Bed-ford, Massachusetts, in 1865.
Pairpoint is notable for its use of the "gray" type of cutting, made by smoothing the cuts in the surface of the weight with a stone and omitting to polish these cuts to a transparent state. In the beginning Pairpoint used the old pinwheel, various stars, and the fan design but more natural lines were adopted later to harmonize with their patterns.

_The Pairpoint factory was taken over in 1880 by W. L. Libby who built a large addition and changed the name to Mount Washington Glass Works. In applying the same name to two different factories, Libbey contributed at least moderately to the problem of determining sources.
